St Ann's RC Church Cheadle Hulme

New Sunday Mass Gloria 19/11/11

We don't at present sing the 'Glory to God' every Sunday (perhaps we should??), just on major feasts - which leads to the temptation to always use the same one. That one, however, is very enthusiastically sung, and so it's probably best to use it this Christmas, with the choir giving a good lead in the verses adapted for the new translation. It would be nice, though, to learn a new setting, and the choir are by now familiar with a 'St Ann Gloria' and can lead everyone as it's being learnt. The plan is to introduce it on the feast of Christ the King, 20 November, and then several times in the new year. If anyone wants a sneak preview of it, or wants to become familiar with it so as 'to amaze your friends' by joining in with great confidence in two weeks time, just click the link below for the audio file (mp3). The second link (pdf) is the score, in case you should wish to check it out.
